The Elimination of Paul Jolley

I want to start this week’s blog off by saying, I totally agree with Jimmy. It’s very clear of what was going on last night with the contestants. It was an off week for some of the favorites, and Jimmy got a lot of backlash and the blame for it. Jimmy got blamed for the contestant’s mistakes, when his job is only to direct the contestants with their song choices of the ‘Weeks Theme’. Jimmy’s job is not to select the songs for the contestants nor steer the songs for them, that’s all up to them. The judges must realize this issue, and put a stop to blaming Jimmy for the contestant’s mistakes, favorite contestants or not.

The performance from Jessica Sanchez tonight was such a shocker to me. I had NO IDEA that she’s been doing a little modeling, and was all over billboards. She’s definitely evolved a lot since the last time I’ve seen her. She’s became a sex symbol in a VERY GOOD way, kudos to Jessica for making such a huge transition. I wish nothing but the best to her and career.

Tonight the bottom 3 contestants contain Paul Jolley, Devin Velez, and Amber Holcomb.

Lazaro Arbos, the weakest performance of last night. Lazaro obviously had an off night last night, and I’m sure everyone agrees. In spite of that, Lazaro was the first person Ryan announced to be in the Top 8 next week. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve loved Lazaro since his audition, but he definitely deserved to be in the Bottom 3 instead of Amber. And I’m sure I’m not the only person that believes so.

On the contrast of it all, Paul Jolley is the contestant to go home. Honestly, I feel him going home should have happened last week, instead of Curtis. Actually, he should have gone home before the Top 10. Paul is a good singer and all, but he just doesn’t have IT, compared to the others. There’s way better talent on the show, and it’s just time to get to that. At the end of the day, there can only be ONE WINNER, keep that in mind everyone. I wish nothing but the best to Paul, good luck with your career and future endeavors.

See you guys next week.

Curtis Finch, Jr.'s Elimination

I am ecstatic to know that Candice has made it into the Top 3 most voted contestants tonight. After the performance she put up last night, she deserved it. Now as for Kree, I like Kree and all; I’m just not sure how I feel about her making it into the Top 3 most voted. Her performance was good last night, but not in the Top 3, in my opinion. The last spot of the Top 3 goes to Angie Miller. She was also in my personal Top 3 performances last night. Angie deserved it.

The two to come back for a sing-off, for a spot on the tour was just all wrong. Starting with Charlie, I don’t really care for him, AT ALL. He’s just very boring to me. Vincent Powell or Cortez Shaw should have been there for the sing-off instead. Now Aubrey is a better is a better option, I liked her a lot, and she hadn’t given a bad performance on her stay on the show. Although, I think Breanna Steer or Tenna Torres would have been a better choice than Aubrey. But since they aren’t, it’s between Charlie Askew and Aubrey Cleland. Who shall it be? It’s up to America.

As the contestants are sent to safety one by one, leaving the bottom 3 contestants, Paul Jolley, Curtis Finch, Jr., and Devin Velez, to leave Curtis to sing for the save, and to go home, unfortunately. This decision sucks. Curtis deserved to be there longer, although, I can’t blame the judges for not using the save on him. It’s way too early in the game to consider that, sorry Curtis, you didn’t deserve it. Good luck with your future and career.
